Carolyn Lee, Ph.D.

Educational Consultation

 

Dr. Carolyn Lee graduated Magna Cun Laude from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in sociology, and completed her Master's Degree in the area of learning disabilities at Northwestern University. She earned a Ph. D. at the University of Arizona, with a major in educational psychology and a minor in special education.

Dr. Lee began her career as an elementary teacher at The Atlanta Speech School, a private school for children with language-based learning disabilities. She has also taught at Pima Community College and the University of Arizona, in both undergraduate and graduate-level programs. She has been in private practice as an educational consultant since 1992 and has provided assessments and remediation for children, adolescents, and adults with learning difficulties since 1989. Other professional activities have included working as the educational consultant for a private, foster care agency for several years; publishing articles in professional journals; and teaching parents about their children's educational rights as a surrogate parent trainer.

Dr. Lee has worked with numerous children and adolescents from many Tucson public and private schools. She has also provided diagnostic testing for community college students referred by their academic counselors. Her areas of special interest include dyslexia, reading disorders, language difficulties, written language weaknesses, and cognitive processing difficulties.
